Event ideas, programming, scheduling, venues, themes — this is the room for the conversation that shapes what OTT actually puts on the calendar.
What goes here:
- New event types you'd like to see (a daytime sober munch, a beginner rope jam, a writing-and-tea afternoon)
- Scheduling feedback (Thursdays are bad for you because of work; weekends would land better)
- Venue ideas (a place you know, a place that might host)
- Theme suggestions for parties or social events
- Educational-event topics you want to see covered (separate from the LMS Class Suggestions form, which is for the formal Foundations / Skills curriculum)
What doesn't:
- RSVP questions for a specific upcoming event — those go in Munches & Meetups or Play Parties
- Complaints about a specific past event — if it's about how the event was run, send it to the Event Organizer team directly; if it involves a member's conduct, that's the incident form
- Formal class / curriculum ideas — the LMS Class Suggestions form runs through a different review process than the events pipeline
How event ideas actually become events:
- Suggestion lands here. Other members chime in — interest level, refinements, "I'd come."
- Event Organizers look at it. If there's appetite, they consider venue, timing, logistics. Some ideas get scheduled fast; some sit on a "great idea, we need a venue/host first" shelf.
- If you suggest an event, you might get invited to help host it. Suggestion isn't a commitment, but co-hosting is one of the fastest ways to actually make your idea happen.
A few things about this room:
- Specifics get traction. "Beginner-friendly rope class with a 6-week curriculum, Saturday afternoons" goes further than "more classes please."
- Be patient. Event planning is a months-long process for anything bigger than a munch.
- +1s help. If a suggestion you like is already posted, reply to that thread rather than starting a new one — it tells the organizers how many people are excited about the same thing.
